Nobody loves a 90s builder grade bathroom, the goal was to leverage the space and upgrade the materials. We were able to expand the shower by 8" and customize the shower fixture placement. One of them often travels and wanted the decandence of a rain shower at home, so we also high-mounted a wand for versatility. We swapped the single basin for a trough sink and added double wall faucets so they can be in the room together. We updated the existing vanity by removing the kickplate and adding legs to move it up 3". Custom cabinetry was made to match it for behind the door, and now they can both be in there with space to move.
We wanted to design with finishes that felt right for the house, but leaned modern. This isn't their forever home, so we used wallpaper and color to embrace the homeowner's bold style. We brought in decor elements inspired by their Californian and Mexican roots to personalize the space.
CUSTOM SOLUTION
This bathroom has a notched 45˚ wall that created dead space behind the door. We had a custom cabinet built to perfectly match the vanity and fit into the odd shape. Having the flat facade makes the bathroom feel larger.
